Special Memory of Paris

Created by Geoff one month ago

Brian was a much loved member of the Drum and Monkey Golfie Boys and a very special memory for us all is when the 4 of us, Dudley, Mario, Brian and me [ Geoff] decided in April 2005 to go to Paris for lunch on less than £100.00 each all-in!! The highlight was a most convivial lunch at a historic restaurant on nthe Left Bank - Le Procope - made famous by writers such as Voltaire and later , Hemingway. Quite why 4 golfers from the U.K. should go especially to Paris to their restaurant just for lunch was met with a classic Gallic shrug and look of total amazement.!! However, they entered inrto the spirit of the occasion - as did we, of course - and even gave us the remainder of the whole bottle of cognac after the delicious crepes flambees!!!After Montmatre and le Sacre Coeur  - the cultural part of the day - we returned home in great heart and wonderful memories, which were shared frequently over the ensuing years.

What memories - what friendship!! God bless you, Brian ; a truly lovely man
